 In the booming tech era, most of our work is depending on the on the email settings, due to which, it is important to check the emails every hour. But it is not possible for most of us to check emails on our computer again and again, as we may be out of work and it is not possible to carry the computer. In such a situation, smartphones have made our work very easy. We can easily setup our email account on the smartphone and can read and reply to emails through the mail app provided in it.

Although it is very easy to configure email in any phone, but still some people may not know it. That is why I have taken an initiative to help those people through this article.

In this post we will teach you how to configure Gmail account to a new iphone. Through which you can access Gmail account in any of your phones.

What is the requirement to configure the gmail account on the iphone?

We usually require an email address and a password to configure a Gmail account. But sometimes we may need details of incoming and outgoing servers. This often happens when your phone is unable to contact the Gmail server through primary settings.

1.       Email address and password.

2.       Imap & pop server details.

3.       Incoming servers should be enabled

4.       Third party app should be allowed from gmail settings.

So far, we have talked about setting up the account, now is the time to set up the account. Which you can do with the help of the steps given below.

1. First of all open the Settings app on iPhone.

2. Now scroll down and touch on password & accounts option

3. Here you will get a list of your email accounts, in this list you have to click on the Add Accounts button.

4. Now you will see a list of email service providers from which you have to select Google.

5. Type in your Google email address and press the Next button.

4. Now type your email password. Keep in mind that the password is always case sensitive, so type it in the same way you have created it. If you have used any of your small or big words or special characters, then type them in the same manner.

4. At the end you will be able to see a window in which you have to select all the services you want to use. For example, if you want to use contacts along with email, then turn it on.

What if can’t add gmail account successfully on iphone using google server-

As soon as you select the services, click OK or Finish button. Your Gmail account will be added to iphone. Now, you can open the Mail app by going out of Settings.

Now your phone will start downloading new emails. If for some reason emails are not being received in your phone through Gmail. So it can be an issue related to account settings.

Which you can fix by manually configuring your account.

For this, first you have to delete your Gmail account from the phone. After that you have to configure the account in the following way.

1. Go back to the passwords and accounts settings again.

2. Now click on add accounts and click on other account

3. Now type your email address, name, password and other inquiries, then click on the Next button.

4. You have to type imap.gmail.com in the details of the incoming server. And you have to type your email address and password in username password.

5. In the outgoing details, you have to type smtp.gmail.com and click on the Next button. After filling all the information, you have to click on the Next button.

Finally, your Gmail account will be added to your iphone. Now you can use your email easily through the mail app. However if you are unable to receive the emails on the gmail account. Here is the way to fix the gmail not getting emails problem.
